Watch winder woes....

Well, I finally graduated nursing school (wooohooo!!!!) and for my graduation gift from Daph and my family, I received an Oris Flight Timer R4118 Limited Edition watch. It's friggin awesome!!! I love it. I've been wanting it for the past 3 - 4 years already. Here's a pic I got online.

Anyways, I knew that I wouldn't be using this everyday, so I wanted to get a watch winder for it. I decided on the Steinhausen. I got it used on ebay for $50. Here's a pic of it.

Oh man, big mistake. It only does continuous winding. It does not do intermittent winding as stated on all the websites its on. The only way I have to make it intermittent is using a christmas tree timer that only runs it for 1 1/2 hours during the morning and evening. So I checked my watch the other morning and it was totally stopped. OMFG...I couldn't believe it!!! So I broke down and bought a really nice winder. Its the Module 3 made by Wolf Designs.

Man, I hope I have better luck with this one. I've heard nothing but good stuff about the winder as well as the customer service. Hopefully this will do the trick. I'll keep you all updated on it.

very nice...too bad the steinhausen didn't work out...bootleg?

so what happened to your watch...why was it totally stopped? overwound?

Hmmm...I heard the steinhausen winder is just a cheap chinese made winder with a german name. go figure. I'm not really sure why the watch was totally stopped. Maybe you can shed some light on it for me Rex? I'm kinda wondering if I should return it to bloomingdales and buy it at Topper or something. But I'm actually still testing it to see. i'll keep you all updated.

I got 3 Automatic watches now and I got the winder from ebay also I think I paid $75 buck or so. mine will hold 4 watch on a wind Clock wise/counter clock wise for 3 min every hours or so. i leave the 1 side with the seiko on all the time and I turn on the one with the omega on when I get home and off when I leave the house. so far it works ok...

id either return it to bloomingdales or send it in for warranty repair. dont sit on it too long. ray had a problem with the crown on his omega...omega got it back to him fairly quickly.

hahaah...no doubt steinhausen watch winders are made in china...aren't they all? lol

Just an update, I got my winder in and it seems to be working great. I think that the steinhausen winder was winding it too fast so that the rotor wasn't turning. Got the new Wolf winder and it seems that the watch has been running great so far!!!
